Cultivation facilities

Phyterra has secured lease agreements across two separate locations, enabling the cultivation of both THC-rich medicinal cannabis and CBD-rich hemp in controlled greenhouse environments. This dual-site approach supports scalability, consistency, and the production of high-quality plant material for medicinal use.

Greenhouse location, Auckland

Botaniq’s Auckland site features a 2,000 m² Venlo glasshouse designed for the cultivation of premium medicinal cannabis flower. Supported by natural water sources and an onsite nutrient mixing facility, the site enables efficient, controlled production for both local and international markets.

The glasshouse environment allows for year-round cultivation, enhancing consistency and increasing production potential. With significant capacity, the site is designed to support large-scale output while maintaining high quality standards.

Botaniq’s long-term vision is to develop a fully vertically integrated facility, covering the entire production cycle from seed to sale, including cultivation, harvesting, extraction, purification, manufacturing, and fulfilment. The site also includes potential for an onsite nursery to supply seeds and plants to other licensed cultivators.

Our Outdoor Grow Site, Northland

Phyterra has established a signed agreement for an outdoor cultivation site in Northland, in partnership with the Aupōuri Ngāti Kahu Te Rarawa (ANT) Trust.

Planned for development from 2023, the site will utilise up to 50 hectares of flat land to grow premium CBD-rich hemp across multiple greenhouses, with an expected capacity of 2–3 crop cycles per year.

Phyterra and ANT Trust are committed to working closely with the local community to deliver meaningful social and economic outcomes, including initiatives such as a 2% profit share to the Kaitaia community, job creation, and regional development, while respecting and protecting the mauri of the whenua.

Through a focus on regenerative practices and long-term collaboration, the partnership aims to support environmental and economic resilience in Northland and contribute to advancing regenerative horticulture in New Zealand.

The Botaniq Advantage

By operating across two separate cultivation sites, Phyterra is able to support the growth of both THC-rich medicinal cannabis and CBD-rich hemp plants. This dual capability is important in enabling a broad range of therapeutic applications, as both plant types play a role in addressing various medical conditions.

Access to both cultivation streams provides Phyterra with a strong foundation to develop a diverse product portfolio, with the ultimate goal of improving patient access and supporting a wider range of treatment needs.
